Artist Henry Le designed the chessboard box as follows:

• The chessboard box is made of Oak wood with a Walnut wood finish, featuring a hinged lid and a ceremonial board concealed within the box’s body.
• The lid of the box also serves as the chessboard with squares made of real wood: Ebony, Maple (Maple wood), and Walnut wood – all chess squares are designed to meet international tournament standards.
• The entire interior of the box is lined with black velvet, exuding luxury and sophistication.
• The interior of the box is divided into 3 compartments: one compartment for a standard 75ml wine bottle (wine type can be replaced) and two wine glasses, one compartment for Black chess pieces, and one compartment for White chess pieces.
• After enjoying the wine, the two chess piece compartments can be stacked parallelly, transforming the chessboard box into a dedicated storage for the Chess set.

For the Black pieces:

16 + 1 piece (half set plus an additional Queen for promotion) – the black pieces are crafted from premium Ebony wood, with a deep black hue and exquisite hidden grain patterns. Ebony wood is one of the rarest, most expensive, and incredibly durable woods, smooth to the touch, resistant to cracking, and becoming increasingly lustrous with age.
Each chess piece is individually handcrafted and mounted onto a gold-plated brass base with a layer of suede underneath, featuring the Henry Le Chess logo.

For the White pieces:

16 + 1 piece (half set plus an additional Queen for promotion) – meticulously crafted from Maple wood – a White-colored wood, smooth and imported from the United States. Maple wood possesses bright grain patterns, giving the chess pieces an exceptionally delicate appearance. Due to its hardness and smoothness, Maple wood allows for intricate and beautiful craftsmanship. Each chess piece in the set is mounted onto a solid brass base, and the combination of the base and the chess piece is meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail.

The base of each chess piece is adorned with gold-plated brass and a layer of suede underneath, featuring the Henry Le Chess logo.

Both the White and Black sides of the chess set, combined with the brass bases of each chess piece, are meticulously crafted, giving this King’s Chess set an elite and distinguished feel.
