The Magic of The Darkness – Extraordinary Chess Set (Dark Blue – Dark Orange )

Part of artist Henry Le’s special design collection, the Mysterious Dark Chess Set draws inspiration from medieval tales, where empires fiercely compete on the political chessboard. One side features dark hues (Deep Blue – Black Wood) opposing the other empire with shades of Orange Gold and Dark Wood. 
This chess masterpiece is crafted with the aim of being a standout piece for unique spaces, suited for personal collections or gaming areas. This special chess set can also serve as a captivating centerpiece, sparking curiosity and creativity when displayed in spaces like hotel lobbies, waiting areas, luxurious living rooms, or lounges. 
This chess set offers a completely different and immensely intriguing experience when playing a game. 

How are the chess pieces designed and crafted?
Each chess piece is meticulously designed by artist Henry Le, drawing inspiration from the standard Staunton Chess tournament pieces in the style of the British Kingdom. Thus, the shapes of each chess piece evoke classic games while providing a sense of excitement, familiarity, and distinctiveness during gameplay or observation.

I. CHESS PIECES

1. King Piece: (Dimensions: L…, W…, H…)

– The King pieces (on both sides) on the chessboard are a perfect combination of two types of wood 
– Epoxy Resin with luminous color blending: Orange and Blue combined with Silver Flakes (for the Blue side) and Gold Flakes (for the Orange side), infused with inspiration and creativity, along with multi-directional wood grain lines creating a fascinating, beautiful, and mystical sensation. 
-The crown of the King piece is made of two solid Ebony wood pieces individually crafted and skillfully integrated into the body of the chess piece. The base of the King piece is crafted from a rare and exquisite Ebony wood slab with incredibly beautiful and mystical patterns in shades of Black, slight brown, and gray. Altogether, they create King pieces opposing each other with extremely mystical and powerful Hot and Cold colors.

2. Queen Piece: (Dimensions: L…, W…, H…)

– Similar to the King piece, the color scheme of the Queen piece is an extremely skillful and harmonious blend of two types of wood, gold flakes, silver flakes, transparent resin, and two bold colors: Orange and Deep Blue. 
-The Queen piece is meticulously handcrafted, with the top of the crown turned from a solid round wood block, and the teeth of the crown meticulously hand-carved to perfection. The body of the Queen piece is a combination of wood grains running in multiple directions, creating an intriguing sensation. The base of the Queen piece, like other pieces on the chessboard, is crafted from rare and exquisite Ebony wood. The Queen, the most powerful and formidable piece on the chessboard, is meticulously designed and crafted in every detail.

     3. Bishop Piece: (Dimensions: L…, W…, H…)

– The Bishop piece is meticulously designed and feels just like the standard bishop piece of Staunton Chess sets, however, this piece has a slimmer base with the goal of serving as a decorative accent, adding an artistic touch, and providing a different sensation when playing with a massive chess set. 
– The Bishop piece still features a single diagonal cut (the elephant’s trunk), similar to standard pieces. Made with materials similar to the other pieces on the chessboard, the Bishop piece is a combination of colors, wood tones, transparent epoxy resin with luminous coloring, and gold and silver flakes. Altogether, they create a Bishop piece that is both beautiful and harmonious with the overall space of the chessboard and other pieces.

    4. Knight Piece: (Dimensions: L…, W…, H…)

– This is the most special piece on the entire The Magic of Darkness chessboard due to its unique design and uniqueness. The Knight piece on the chessboard is traditionally called the Knight, the protector obligated to defend the empire, riding on noble steeds. 
– The Knight piece in The Magic of Darkness chessboard is uniquely designed, with the top of the piece featuring detailed eyes, nose, ears, mane… and additionally adorned with reins and a saddle. The Knight piece truly stands out on the chessboard, and the four Knights showcase the craftsmanship, meticulous design, and precise craftsmanship of the product. 
– The combination of wood arranged irregularly with colored resin creates bright, dark, and mystical lines on the smooth, glossy, and perfectly finished surface. The Knight piece is truly the focal point on the chessboard, displaying the exquisite craftsmanship and meticulous design.

5. Rook Piece: (Dimensions: L…, W…, H…)

– On the chessboard, the rook piece is one of the strongest pieces, serving excellently for a total force onslaught with straight-check and face-slapping moves. On this chessboard, the four rook pieces are designed with the spirit of being icons for the castle. 
– Similar to other pieces on this chessboard, the rook piece is made from two types of wood, Walnut and Ebony wood. The top of the rook piece is carved inward and evenly chiseled, resembling the top of a castle wall. The rook piece with its cylindrical shape is quite similar to the standard rook piece for Staunton Chess sets, with a slimmer body and base proportionally. The rook piece always exudes a sense of stability.

   6. Pawn Piece: (Dimensions: L…, W…, H…)

– The Pawn, being the last and least important piece at the start of a chess game, is designed with a beautiful proportion almost to the standard of tournament chess pieces, but enlarged. T
– The 16 pawns divided into two sides are meticulously handcrafted, beautiful, and exquisite, with gracefully carved edges and the excellent combination of two materials: Ebony wood for the base and Rosewood combined with colored resin, gold flakes, or silver flakes creating a lineup of pawns guarding the front lines of the important pieces. 
– The pawn is truly crucial in endgame situations and if it manages to reach the opponent’s end of the board. The Pawn pieces on The Magic of Darkness chessboard are exceptionally beautiful for their overall combination with the entire chessboard. 

II. CHESS BOARD & TABLE LEGS

1. Chessboard and Chess Board Surface: (Dimensions: L…, W)

• The chessboard surface is UV printed on high-quality Microfiber leather and mounted on a wooden panel.
• The chessboard frame is made of Oak wood, coated with Walnut color.
• The chessboard surface and frame are connected to the legs with 4 Solid Brass Screw Posts – 24k Gold plated.

  2. Table Legs (Can be disassembled and replaced with different heights and styles)                                                                                                                                                                         

• The table legs are shaped like 4 Rook pieces with two basic colors of Hardwood: Walnut for dark color and Ash wood for light color.
• These two types of wood are intricately assembled to create contrasting Light and Dark colors with wood grain patterns changing according to the shape of the Rook pieces.
• The legs are connected to the tabletop and frame with four solid brass pillars plated with 24k gold.
