Materials:
Chess Box:

• The box doubles as chess table is designed by artist Henry Le and crafted from solid Oak wood, intricately finger jointed for robustness. The bottom is made of wood.
• The box lid consists of assembled wooden squares: black squares are Mun Sock wood, white squares are Maple wood, and the borders are made of Cocobolo wood, meticulously crafted and detailed.
• The lock and hinges are made of brass, with the hinge cleverly concealed within the box for elegance.
• The interior is lined with luxurious black velvet, and the inner tray is designed with compartments to hold 34 Chinese Chess pieces (32 regular pieces and 2 Queens for promotion), 32 Chinese Chess pieces (30 stacked vertically along the side with carved dragon motifs), and 2 Generals placed face up.
• The Chinese Chessboard is made of premium Microfiber leather, with the standard Chinese Chessboard pattern printed on it.

Black side:

16 + 1 piece (half set plus an additional Queen for promotion) black pieces are crafted from premium Ebony wood, with deep black color, very sturdy with beautifully hidden grain patterns. Ebony wood is one of the most precious and durable woods, smooth to touch, crack-resistant, and becomes shinier with time.

Each piece is hand-turned and mounted onto a gold-plated brass base with a red suede leather underside featuring the Henry Le Chess logo.

The brass base of each piece is meticulously turned from a solid brass piece and intricately fitted onto the base of the chess piece. Holding the piece gives a sensation of weightiness and solidity.

White side:

The White side comprises 16 + 1 pieces (Half set plus a Queen for promotion) expertly crafted from Maple wood – a white-colored wood, smooth and imported from the United States. Maple wood features bright grains, a light color, providing an exquisite feel to the chess pieces. Due to its hardness and smoothness, Maple wood allows for intricate and beautiful craftsmanship. Each piece in the chess set is mounted onto a brass base turned from solid brass, and the base and body of the chess pieces are a meticulous combination of details and turns.

The base of each piece is affixed with a gold-plated brass base and a red suede leather underside featuring the Henry Le Chess logo.

Both the black and white sides of the chess set, combined with the brass bases of each piece, are meticulously crafted, giving this Chess set a sense of sophistication and distinctiveness.
